My Son, The Sports Star

So last year, Charlie started football lessons in Term 2.  It was fun, and he learned some ball handling skills.  This year, he has been bumped up to the older age level, and has thrived in the competitive atmosphere.  When he saw how good the other boys were, he stepped up his game, and now he is playing with the higher level kids.  I overheard a couple of them talking a few weeks ago: "I want to go against Charlie [in one-on-one play];  he's GOOD."

After refusing to try rugby last year, Charlie decided (after one day at a summer camp) that he would like to play.  What a great decision.  He has been loving it.  And he is good.  Today was the first rugby tournament of the season.  His team (Cheetahs!) played three 10-minute games, and he scored two tries.  I can't get over how professional he is about the game.  Well, aside from the clownish antics before and after the serious play!

And of course, there were the two tries....

...and the end of the day....
....and a medal!

...who are obviously from HK!
