Irrelevance

There was a Year 2 class in the library today.  The teacher was reading a book to them about insects (Why Do Some Insects Glow?).  She asked the students if they had seen any interesting insects.  A few said,"I've seen a ladybird!" "I've seen a beetle!" "I've seen a praying mantis!"

Then one girl raises her hand.

The  teacher says,"Yes, E___?"

And she says,"Yesterday I got two mosquito bites, and once I saw a dog running with only three legs."

Teacher: "Oh, really, E____!"

They do earn their keep.
